We Fail in Prayer When We Don’t Pray God’s Way

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

Failure is a tough word. We may not like the idea that we can fail in prayer. But when we don’t pray God’s way and when we don’t allow the Holy Spirit to help us pray, that guarantees that we will fail in prayer. Here are seven ways many Christians will fail in prayer.

God’s way – We don’t pray God’s way.  You will definitely fail in prayer if you insist on praying your own way instead of God’s way.  We all naturally tend to pray to impress others.  God wants us to pray, however, not to impress anyone or to show them how righteous we are, but simply to receive from Him what we need and what He desires to give us.

Jesus has instructed us to pray in this way: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come Your will be done on…

Update: Writing, Nazi Roots, Ukraine

I feel its time for an update, but I’m not sure what to write. There are so many things coming at me, begging for my time. I continue to write my book on The Tribulationthat I think is the most important for me, that God wants me to do. All my writing of books I feel are given to me by the Lord, so I feel good about it. I couldn’t imagine writing any book that was not given to me, or led of the Lord.

I am also reading The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left, by Dinesh D’Souza. I found it at Half Price Books. It’s a topic that I am really interested in, understanding who is lying, and exposing so much evil—finding the roots of evil in the world. It almost seems that some people see glamor and glory in evil works and genocide, etc.—the Hitlers, the Mussolinis, the Lenins, and so many more. Now we are seeing the evil craziness of Putin.; Satan is definitely behind it and in it.

I won’t go into it, but I’m fighting my own demons; depression, temptations, regrets, etc. But   each day is new; with His mercies that more than match each trial and trouble. His mercies are new every morning!

It’s such a sad reality, what is happening in Ukraine. It’s president and so many of its people are so bold and fearless, and I pray for them. And the Russian people are now seeing what kind of a leader they have. Eyes are being opened to truth. I pray for all people everywhere that the Holy Spirit has touched, that those convicted would let Him in. He stands and knocks at their heart’s door. Won’t they let Him in?

A Scenic Winter Walk

A Sunday afternoon walk takes me first to this snowy field. I look toward the east at the bright snow and the beautiful blue sky.

A familiar scene; a frozen creek look down from a bridge.

Headed back; on my way home.

I take a detour.

The narrow way. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life.”

Ah, the evergreens. They are beautiful contrasted with the dark blue sky.

Personalities in the Tribulation: The Antichrist – Part 1

Stephen Nielsen's avatarStudying Bible Prophecy

The Antichrist is a prominent figure and the leader of all the evil that goes on in the Tribulation. Our information about him comes from three different biblical books: Daniel, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation.

His origin and source of power

First, from Revelation 13:1 and 17:8-13, we see his origin as a beast that has seven heads and ten horns. This description is, of course, symbolic of a terrible and evil person, and who has his beginning from seven world kingdoms: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and a revived Rome; he being the king or leader of the seventh kingdom. (If you want a more detailed explanation of his seven heads read Revelation 17:9-13.)

As for his source of power, there is no doubt that God alone gives him power as His instrument to bring His wrath on the earth, both to persuade people to believe in Him and…

Failure in Prayer – Part 1

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

Failure in prayer I think is mainly due to our failure in getting to prayer—because of our laziness and lack of discipline. But there can also be a failure in prayer even when we are disciplined to pray—because we just don’t know how to pray effectively. In the next four blogs (parts) I will bring to you 26 ideas (in alphabetical order) on why prayers fail (fail to receive answers). Today it will be A through F.

Authority – Prayers fail when we don’t pray with authority.  If you have gone to prayer, and your prayers have not been answered, it may be because you are not abiding in Christ, nor are you executing the authority He has given you in Him.  Do these things and you will be able to resist the devil in faith as you use the Word of God with power in all your praying.

The Lies about Antifa – from “The Big Lie”

I am continuing to share my notes from the reading of The Big Lie, by Dinesh D’Souza.

Notes from pages 16-22

  • During the Trump administration you remember that there were showdowns between the Left and Trump supporters. And the Left viewed themselves as waging an anti-fascist struggle. They called themselves anti-fascists or Antifa.
  • The Berkeley protesters were also antifa. But they are the ones who were blocking speakers from speaking on a campus. Likewise, Antifa was harassing Trump supporters, burning things, and engaging with the police. But Antifa was saying that they are anti-fascist. Yet they are acting as fascists; and the ones they are accusing as fascists (Trump and Trump supporters) are relatively peaceful. Hence what they are doing is a lie.
  • On violence. The Left says that Trump’s agenda is based on violence: the violence of wall building, the violence of deportations, the violence of being against abortion. This is a lie in itself. These things are not violent actions. They are all things that keep the peace.
  • The Left use violence as a political strategy. They say fascism (which they accuse the Right of) can only be stopped by physical force, violence.
  • The Left say that they (the anti-fascists) will stop the fascists (the Right) from speaking. They will give them no platform for debate. No free speech for the fascist Right. Of course, this is an inverted lie, a Big Lie.
  • Like Hitler has said of the Jews, the Left says they should destroy the fascism (of the Right) by any means, or else they (the Right) will destroy them. Here again we see the inverted lie.
  • Herbert Marcuse, a Berkeley professor, “argued that in order to defeat Nazism in America, it was necessary for the Left to use Nazi tactics” (p. 22). Marcuse here is calling the conservative Right “right-wing fascists.” He said, “The Left should repress them, shout them down, even beat them up or kill them” (p. 22).

Personalities in the Tribulation: Satan

Stephen Nielsen's avatarStudying Bible Prophecy

In my study of the Tribulation, I found references to Satan in four different chapters of Revelation: chapter twelve, thirteen, sixteen, and twenty. And I found twenty-four references to Satan with four different names: Satan (4 ref.), the devil (4 ref.), the serpent (3 ref.), and the dragon ((13 ref.). We will begin our study of Satan, mainly as a dragon, from chapter twelve. (I will limit this study of Satan to just the time of the Tribulation.)

Satan the great dragon, chapter twelve

Most of the information about Satan is in this chapter. It covers the sad history of Satan and what his evil plans are during the Tribulation.

From verses 3-5. Here Satan is portrayed as a large red dragon having seven heads and ten horns and with seven crowns on his heads. His depiction as a dragon helps us to see Satan’s cruel and horrible character, and…

Lies about Racism, Fascism, and Nazism – from “The Big Lie”

Stephen Nielsen's avatarStephen Nielsen

I am continuing to share with you my reading notes from Dinesh D’Souza’s book, the Big Lie. Click here to see the previous post on this subject.

Notes from pages 5-14

  • The left has managed to transfer the blame for racism (slavery, the Klu Klux Klan, etc.) from the Dem. Party to the Rep. Party. How was it done? They told lies. Lies were taught in classrooms; lies were made into movies and TV shows; lies were reported in the media as truth.
  • These lies were revealed in the book Hillary’s America—and the left was outraged. Dinesh D’Souza noted that in 1860, the year before the Civil War, no republican owned any slaves; they were all owned by Democrats (p. 5).
  • It has come to be in this present culture that whenever someone doesn’t like what you believe in, he will call you Hitler or a Nazi. So…
