The State, National, and World-Wide Prayer Ministry

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

These are large and far-reaching ministries, but I think they are just as important as the others.  God wants us to prayer for all people, far as well as near.  This is how these prayer ministries may be designed.

They may operate through the following avenues:

Magazines and newspapers. There are a few good Christian magazines and newspapers out there that focus on prayer. I get Herald of His Coming, which is jam packed with articles on prayer and it also provides the reader with about eight or ten News Briefs with prayer requests from various countries. I think newspapers and magazines like this one is an excellent way to recruit prayer ministry members, provide the reader with world-wide prayer requests, and to keep him or her motivated to pray.

A prayer letter. A letter may be mailed to all magazines and newspapers subscribers. Its purpose will be to invite…

4 Ways to Obtain God-Confidence

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

Confidence in God

Self-confidence is inherent within us.  It is something we were born with, a gift we have from God.  But that kind of confidence can be abused—when we give into our pride.  A better, more reliable source of confidence, and what I want to talk about now, is God-confidence.  This is something a bit different.  When we are confident in God we are not confident in our strength, rather in our weakness, so that He is made strong in us (2 Cor. 12:9-10). We could also say that a God-confidence will serve to help our self-confidence—to help us not to abuse our self-confidence.

So, with that said, how do we get this God-confidence?  I want to suggest four ways: by repentance and trust, by obedience, by meditation, and by fellowship.

Repentance and trust.  The first step on your way to confidence is to admit your spiritual…

Benefits of Dandelion Tea

I haven’t tried it yet, but I have read that there are a lot of benefits to this tea. Here are three that I repeatedly came across.

It Reduces Water Weight. If you’re feeling bloated dandelion tea may help by increasing urine output and flow. And this will also allow your liver to eliminate toxins.

It Could Promote Liver Health. The role of our liver is to produce bile (which helps enzymes in the body break down fats into fatty acids) and also to filter and detoxify our blood. “The vitamins and nutrients present in dandelions help in cleansing and maintaining the proper functioning of our liver,” says Dr. Ritika Samaddar.

Dandelion Tea May Soothe Digestive Ailments. Dandelion tea helps with mineral absorption and soothes the stomach lining,” says Dr. Manoj K. Ahuja, Fortis Hospitals.

Now all I have to do is find some dandelions and make the tea.

Dandelions, Dandelion Tea

Dandelions are one of the first flowers (or weeds) to appear. The big ones I think are kind of pretty. I guess the thing that most people dislike about them is how they tend to take over a lawn and choke out the grass. But I have heard that they have some benefits. You can make tea out of them.

How to make Dandelion Tea

First, make sure the Dandelions aren’t treated with chemicals.

Wash flowers and leaves, then steep in hot water for 15-20 minutes.

Next blog I will give you a few health benefits to this great flower–weed. Stay tuned.

HR1: What It Is and Why Christians Need to Pray Against It

For a while now I have heard of HR1, I heard that it was bad for our country, but I didn’t exactly know what it was. Maybe you are in the same boat. Well, I got busy and did reading on it and here it is.

What is HR1?

HR1 is a 791-page bill in Congress, which has been given the title “For the People Act.” It is a bill that intends to expand voting rights and is truly a wish list for the political left. The bill is on the verge of passing into law but is presently being stalled by a filibuster.

I can’t tell you how important it is that this bill not pass into law; for it will introduce voter fraud into this country like we have never seen before, and we will quickly turn into a Communist country—where, just like Venezuela, our votes won’t mean anything.

Eight Problems with HR1

1. The bill federalizes all elections. Our founders and the Constitution guarded against putting power in one place, but this bill does just that. It takes away the power of the state to handle its own elections and gives it to the Federal government to be governed by its rules. In doing this, it will strike down all state safety protocols and will install federal rules that will damage the integrity of our elections.

2. Same-day voter registration. My state of Minnesota has had this in place for some time, but this bill would mandate it for all states. This rule will result in more fraudulent, illegal voting.

3. Gets rid of voter ID laws. States should require proof of citizenship and age requirements, but this bill strikes it down, allowing felons, illegals and 16- and 17-year-olds to vote. No wonder this administration is so eager to open up our borders.

4. It mandates mail in balloting. If this bill passes, every state must accept mail-in-ballots ten days after elections. The ballots must indicate that it was mailed on election day, but no proof of it will be required.

5. Ballot harvesting will be allowed. This type of voter trafficking (buying and selling votes) will ensure voter fraud and will turn our people into criminal maniacs.

6. Early voting. It will allow for up to 15 days of early voting.

7. Election observers to be shut out. Those who have observed the counting of ballots will no longer be allowed to do it. They will be shut out.

8. Anti-Speech laws. There will be a Soviet-style speech restriction to limit speaking—giving their opinion on the Federal voting laws.

General Comments in Opposition to HR1

May Davis, a former legal adviser to President Trump, and a writer for the Independent Women’s Forum, said of this Bill: “It strips the power from the American people and gives it to Washington politicians.”

Senator Ted Cruz called this bill, “The Corrupt Politician Act.”

Cruz said of this bill: “It’s the single most dangerous piece of legislation before Congress… It is about ensuring that Democrats remain in power and control for the next 100 years…it makes it so that Democrats will never lose.”

Mitch McConnel: “The bill is a “one-sided power grab” by the Democrat party.

Dan Crenshaw: “The bill would legalize the type of fraud seen in North Carolina in 2018.”

Mike Lee: “HR1 was as if written in Hell by the Devil himself.”

Why We Need to Pray Against HR1

If HR1 passes in to law your freedoms will be cancelled and we will quickly turn into a Communist country. Christians, if you want to maintain your freedom in this country, if you want your votes to count, pray that this bill will fail. Pray that Joe Manchin and other key Democrats will see this bill for what it is and to vote against it.

“Judge Not” – from Matthew 7:1

When our Lord says, “judge not,” in Matthew 7:1, He is using the term only in its negative sense—as the Pharisees judged. Certainly, we are to have discerning judgment, as to who is a false prophet and who is a true one, and to judge doctrine. And the state has judges and magistrates that are appointed by God to judge. And the church also is to judge its people in certain matters of discipline.

The kind of judgement our Lord is speaking of when He says “judge not” is a condemning judgement—a judgment we see in the Pharisees. This negative, condemning judgment can be seen in six ways.

  1. It has an evil spirit attached to it. I would say that, for this reason, it is of the devil and it works to destroy us.
  2. It condemns and despises others for no good reason. We have seen this toward the Samaritans, and also toward the Jews. Certainly, we see it toward Jesus and toward Christians. Recently we see it from some toward Donald Trump; and we also see it toward entire races of people—toward blacks and toward whites.
  3. It has a spirit of self-righteousness and supremacy. This spirit of judgment is based on the lie that one person or persons is better or more righteous than another. It is what condemned an entire race of people (the Jews) to extermination.
  4. It hopes for the worst in others. Hence, we see its evil, diabolical nature; a nature that is the opposite of love.
  5. It focuses on personalities instead of principles. In correct judgment we always judge according to biblical principles, but in wrong judgment it is always according to something we just don’t like about a person—according to our personal preferences.
  6. It is expressing an opinion about someone without gathering knowledge of all the facts. It is a snap judgment. It is a first impression that is often wrong.

The Community and Citywide Prayer Ministry

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

These ministries are very important.  The goal for each of them is to get Christian people praying together for their city or community, so that, according to 1Timothy 2:2, they may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  Here are a few ideas of what I think this ministry should look like:

1.  There should be a clear focus of ministry.  That focus must be on interceding for the needs of the city or community.  Those needs will be at least three-fold:

(1) For its leaders. Prayer must be made for all the city or community leaders, that they be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth; but also, that God would work through them, so that whether they are believers or not, they would rule and make decisions with God’s wisdom.

(2) For churches. Prayer should be made for all Christian churches…

God’s Glory Manifest in the Millennial Kingdom

Stephen Nielsen's avatarStudying Bible Prophecy

024

This millennial condition will no doubt bring to all people the knowledge that God exists and that they are without excuse in believing Him (Rom. 1:20). His presence and glory will be seen everywhere in His creation. The whole earth will manifest His glory.  Fertile fields, fresh streams, and beautiful gardens will be seen everywhere.  And everyone will recognize that it is the Lord’s doing (Isa. 40:5).  And oh, the blossoms will be beautiful, especially in Israel.  In Isaiah 35:1-2 it says of the land of Israel,

The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
Like the crocus
2 It will blossom profusely
And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty of our God.

Confidence in God: for 5 Things

Stephen Nielsen's avatarPrayer A to Z

In my last post we learned from the Bible that confidence is a trust, mainly it is a trust in God. Confidence is also having hope, courage, and assurance.  Thus if we have confidence toward God we have hope in what He has provided for us, courage because He is with us, and an assurance that the things He has promised us He will give to us.  And through it all, because we have confidence in Him, we feel secure and safe. If you think about it, for a Christian, confidence is absolutely essential. Here are five things we can have confidence in God for.

1. For our salvation. Some people don’t think it’s important to know that when they die they are going to heaven.  But God does.  That’s why He has given us so many promises that we can claim for our salvation.   A favorite of mine is…
