Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer (Ps 6:8-9).

Willows are wonderful trees. When I was in junior high my family’s backyard (in Baltimore County, Maryland) had a huge weeping willow tree, which my siblings and I used for playing what we called “weeping willow tag”. Willow trees are important enow to be mentioned in Scripture, too — see Leviticus 23:40 & Job 40:22 & Isaiah 15:7 & Ezekiel 17:5 (notice that willows grow well if their root systems can tap into a nearby freshwater brook) and especially Psalm 137:2 (notice that willows were growing by riverbanks in Babylon). Wonderful photograph, Stephen, and it brought back some happy memories of playing tag, back in the late AD1960s, in our family’s backyard, with my brothers and sisters.
