2 Peter 1:4

4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

The first few words— “by these,” refer to His promises. The promises are those that He gives to believers, or all that are partakers of the divine nature. There are many promises contained in the bible; we may claim all that refer to those who are His own. They are all for us, and they will help us to escape all the corruption that is in the world. But, of course, there are many kinds of corruptions or sins, and we can be sure that God has a promise just for us, to help us escape that sin that we encounter.
