Yes, but what I was getting at is that “a little” is all it takes, and is often how Satan operates. For example, if evil influence rushes in with a big obvious action, most people are alerted to something being amiss, but as it is, even with contemplative prayer it all sneaked in slowly under the radar. It’s the old story about if you try to drop a frog in a beaker of boiling water it will hop out, but if you slowly heat it up, it’s all over for the frog before it knows what happened. That’s how contemplative prayer worked its way into Christian circles.
Contemplative simply means thoughtful, waiting, which is good…but a little “New Age” twist to it and it becomes something far, far from God.
